Climate activists, known as Ultima Generazione, showed up in Rome, Italy’s capital this time. The activists gathered in Tiburtina, jumped over barriers, and entered the ring road, attempting to block car traffic by sitting on the road at 8:00 a.m. local time. They shouted slogans against the use of fossil fuels, and there were a few unpleasant situations between the group of around ten members and the drivers. Some drivers got out of their vehicles and pulled the demonstrators to the security lane.
The road was reopened to traffic once the protestors were removed from the road and detained. Around 10:45 a.m., another environmental activist group held a protest on the Aurelia ring road.
