Clock Tower Frozen at 04:17 Since Türkiye Quakes

The clock tower in Adıyaman, a symbol of the city, has remained stuck at 04:17 since the devastating earthquake in southeastern Türkiye on February 6, 2023. The 7.7 magnitude quake, which struck at that time, caused massive destruction, and the stopped clock has since become a symbol of the disaster.

Following public requests, Adıyaman Municipality decided to keep the clock at 04:17 as a memorial. The site, located at Atatürk Boulevard Clock Tower Intersection, has been landscaped, and a commemoration event was held on the first anniversary of the quake.
