A cold lava flow occurred after the Kanlaon Volcano erupted on Monday on the central island of Negros in the Philippines. Social media images showed cold lava flowing through the village of Biaknabato, covering a road. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) warned that the cold lava, containing volcanic ash, poses significant danger.
The eruption led to the cancellation of many flights and the evacuation of hundreds of residents from their homes. Kanlaon is one of 24 active volcanoes in the Philippines.
