The Songkran Water Festival, the biggest holiday in Thailand and celebrated every year between April 13 and 15, has started. After the religious ceremonies held in the morning, Thais took to the streets wearing colorful clothes and turned the city into a playground. Tourists from abroad also participated in the world-famous celebrations, which were celebrated on a large scale, especially in the capital, Bangkok.
Songkran marks the new year according to the Thai Lunar Calendar and represents cleansing and purification.
