China celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CCP) with a ceremony in the capital Beijing. Many attended the ceremony watched the military demonstrations. At the ceremony, Chinese President Xi Jinping made a speech expressing that they were against hegemony and power politics, and that those who try to oppress China would find the Chinese People against them. Stating that the only way for China is socialism, Xi pledged to accomplish reunification with Taiwan.
Russia and Ukraine carried out their first exchange of prisoners under 25 as part of a June 2 agreement in Istanbul. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy said the swap also included wounded soldiers and would continue in stages. Russia confirmed its soldiers returned via Belarus and are receiving care. No official numbers were shared.
