The runway under construction at the second sea fill airport of Turkey in Rize-Artvin, have been completed. The runway, terminal buildings, and the control tower that resembles iconic Turkish tea glass were also completed.
Rize Governor Kemal Çebe stated that 80% of Airport construction has completed and that they have reached the final stage of infrastructure works. “We are in the final stage of infrastructure works, and we can say that we are very close to the end in superstructure. As of today, the runway will be completed with the last asphalt to be poured. Hopefully, we hope to complete all the operations at our airport like the end of March and the beginning of April,” Çebe said.
