A wall of a dam which belongs to a diamond mine in Jagersfontein, South Africa collapsed. One died and 40 injured in floodwater emerged after the collapse. Forty injured, including a pregnant woman, were sent to a hospital and the residents were evacuated by the authorities.
According to Minister of Mineral Resources, Gwede Manstashe, 9 houses are drowned by the flood and 20 houses are nonusable. The flood also broke lampposts, blocked some roads and damaged drinking water resources. All the damage will be covered by the owner company of the dam.
