Thousands of dead fishes found floating in Orontes River, located in Hatay. Worried citizens demanded the prevention of fish deaths.

“I saw the dead fishes as I was passing by the Orontes River, and I was shocked. It is one of the places where Samandağ residents earn their livings. It seriously affects us that the deaths repeat themselves every year. If measures are not taken, fishing here will be troublesome. The deaths must be taken care of immediately.” says Serap Temizkan, a fisher.
