Death Toll from Floods Rises to 46 in Brazil

Torrential rains in Brazil’s Minas Gerais state have left at least 46 people dead and 21 missing, authorities said. Most of the victims were reported in Juiz de Fora, with additional fatalities in the nearby city of Ubá.

Rescue teams continue search operations as floods and landslides devastate southeastern Brazil. Around 3,600 people have been displaced, while officials said Juiz de Fora recorded its wettest February on record, with rainfall double the seasonal average.
