The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council of the Philippines reported last week that the number of people who lost their lives in the floods and landslides caused by Tropical Storm Butchoy and Typhoon Carina has risen to at least 36 and the number of injured to 6. The search continues for 3 missing people.
The disaster affected approximately 4.5 million people in total and forced thousands to leave their homes.
