The death toll from Typhoon Matmo has risen to eight, with five others injured, according to Vietnam’s Disaster and Levee Management Agency. The storm caused severe flooding and landslides, damaging over 400 houses and submerging more than 15,000. Nearly 14,600 hectares of farmland were flooded, and about 97,000 livestock were lost.
