Myanmar continues to grapple with the aftermath of cyclone Mocha, which has wreaked havoc since last Sunday. The Arakan state, located in the western part of the country, has been particularly affected, with the number of fatalities rising to 145. The cyclone, with winds reaching speeds of 209 kilometers per hour, caused extensive damage to buildings and resulted in widespread flooding. Efforts are underway to restore electricity and telephone lines, as well as repair roofs torn off by the powerful storm.
