The number of killed people in the flooding caused by heavy rains in Pakistan rose to 198. Following the declaration of a state of emergency across Sindh State, authorities called for the establishment of control rooms in all district health offices and hospitals.
Pakistan’s Climate Change Minister, Sherry Rehman, said at a press conference that the country received 87 percent more rainfall in monsoons this year than in other years. Stating that Pakistan is among the 10 most vulnerable countries in the world against climate change, Rehman stated that measures should be taken to reduce the effects of climate change, otherwise the situation will worsen in the future.
