Cyclone Michaung, forecasted days earlier in India, struck the southeastern state of Andhra Pradesh yesterday. The hurricane’s force brought down trees and flooded at least 25 villages from heavy rainfall. Over 15,000 individuals were evacuated to safety as the severe storm persisted, affecting neighboring Tamil Nadu. This led to the uprooting of trees, power line damage, and extensive harm to agricultural lands. Tragically, the death toll from floods triggered by the cyclone in Chennai, Tamil Nadu’s capital, has risen to 17.
