The death toll from the collapse of two buildings in Fes, Morocco, has risen to 22, according to the city’s prosecutor, who warned it may climb further. One building was empty, while the other was hosting an Aqiqah celebration.
Authorities launched judicial, technical, and administrative investigations. Local media reported the buildings were built in 2006 under a government program allowing former slum residents to construct their own homes.
