The death toll from floods and landslides caused by heavy rainfall in Japan’s Ishikawa Prefecture has risen to six, with search efforts ongoing for 10 missing individuals. Local authorities confirmed that rescue operations continue, with 115 villages cut off due to the devastation.
Water supply disruptions have affected 6,200 households in Wajima city, 1,738 in Suzu city, and Noto town. Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi stated that helicopters from the Japan Self-Defense Forces (SDF) are delivering aid to the affected areas as the search and rescue operations intensify.
