At least 94 people have died in Petropolis in floods following heavy rains in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. More than 50 houses were destroyed and 370 people were placed to shelters. 24 people were rescued so far in the search and rescue operations that are conducted by 400 firefighters, authorities said. Also it’s been reported that 35 people were missing in the floods.
While the Petropolis local government declared a 3-day state of mourning and disaster in the city, hospital staff were reinforced to better serve the victims.
