The death toll of the 6.1 magnitude earthquake that occurred 44 kilometers southwest of the Khost city on Afghanistan’s Pakistan border is increasing. Authorities announced that the number of people who lost their lives due to the earthquake increased to 1,000 and the number of injured to 1,500. “The number is increasing. People are digging grave after grave,” Paktika Information and Culture Department Mohammad Amin Huzaifa said in his statement.

At least 26 people have died after Typhoon Kalmaegi struck the central Philippines, most of them in Cebu province.
