A dramatic scene unfolded in Tarsus, Mersin, as a building, flagged for structural decay, collapsed within seconds upon the touch of a digger in Mersin, Türkiye. Reports indicated that the 5-story building had received a decay report and a demolition order. Consequently, a construction company arrived, taking necessary precautions before commencing demolition. Unfortunately, as operator Mustafa Ergen (36) maneuvered the work machine, touching a building column, the structure crumbled entirely, burying part of the machine and causing slight foot injuries to the operator.
Burned Houses Captured After Forest Fire in Türkiye’s Çanakkale
A fire that began in agricultural land in Çanakkale’s Kepez district, Türkiye, spread rapidly to forested areas, fueled by wind. Intensive firefighting efforts by air and land crews are ongoing. Drone footage captured the extensive damage to villas in the Güzelyalı district, where properties were reduced to ashes. Firefighting teams from the Regional Directorate of Forestry were promptly dispatched to tackle the blaze, which broke out around 1:30 PM yesterday.
