The President of Defense Industry, Haluk Görgün, commends test pilots and project team after the inaugural flight of Türkiye’s KAAN aircraft, marking a significant milestone in the project. Görgün emphasizes that this achievement is just the beginning, acknowledging the ambitious goals ahead. KAAN, designed with 5th generation capabilities, completes its first flight, reaching an altitude of 8000 feet and a speed of 230 knots during the 13-minute test. The aircraft’s specifications include a maximum cruise speed of 1.8 Mach, altitude ceiling of 55 thousand ft, and an internal weapons bay, among other advanced features. The successful flight marks progress in the ongoing development of the national combat aircraft.
