The phases of the moon revealed unique landscapes with images taken from Turkey for one year. It is possible to understand the importance of the moon in human life and nature, as Native Americans derive names for each month in The Old Farmer’s Almanac. The names they give to the moon remind of a feature brought by the season.
Photographer Isa Turan, who lives in Turkey, recalled these names given in the past and displayed the phases of the moon for a year. Turan used a wolf figure he placed on the drone while photographing the full moon in January, which is called the ‘Wolf Moon’. In February, which is called the ‘Snow Moon’, the Çanakkale Martyrs’ Monument Turkish Flag and the unique harmony of the full moon amazed people. Turan managed to catch a large passenger plane passing in front of the full moon in March, which is called the ‘Worm Moon’. It was seen that flamingos passed in front of the moon at that moment when Gediz Delta Bird Sanctuary was caught in İzmir in April, which is called the ‘Pink Moon’. In May, known as the ‘Flower Moon’, the full moon was seen in the Tirazlı village of Izmir.
