The General Directorate of Meteorology ,n türkiyeissued a warning about desert dust originating from North Africa, impacting regions including Marmara, Aegean, Western Mediterranean, western Central Anatolia, and Western Black Sea. They advised caution due to potential visibility reduction, air quality decrease, and transportation disruptions. The anticipated African dust has reached Bodrum, causing residents to wake up to reduced visibility and a dusty environment.
The forest fire that began in İzmir’s Aliağa district and spread to Foça has been brought under control after intense aerial and ground efforts. A second fire in Bozköy, which started near industrial facilities, also threatened residential areas, prompting evacuations.
Six aircraft, five helicopters, and dozens of land vehicles responded. The fire reportedly began from burning garbage, and one suspect has been detained. Cooling operations continue in the region.
