US President Donald Trump claimed that Iran’s nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan were “extensively damaged” in recent airstrikes, calling the attack a “direct hit” and saying satellite images confirmed the destruction.
Iran, however, downplayed the impact, insisting the damage was minor. The conflicting statements have intensified uncertainty over the true extent of the strike’s aftermath.
Russia bombed a prison in Ukraine’s Zaporizhia region, killing 17 inmates and injuring 42, according to Ukraine’s Ministry of Justice. The airstrike hit Bilenke Prison with four bombs, causing heavy damage. Ukrainian officials condemned the attack as a violation of international law and labeled it a war crime.
Zaporizhia is among the regions Russia claims to have annexed in 2022, though it remains mostly under Ukrainian control.
