A fire broke out last night in a hotel in Kawazu, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. Despite the efforts of dozens of firefighters, the flames were brought under control after about 10 hours of work. About 100 people, including 20 hotel staff, were evacuated from the building. No casualties were reported in the fire, while a firefighter was slightly injured in his leg during the extinguishing efforts.
A detailed investigation was launched into the cause of the fire.
