A 62-year-old driver in Taiwan’s Hsinchu city, while waiting at red lights, suddenly stepped on the gas and crashed into a motorcycle standing in front of him. The driver, who said that he panicked because he hit the motorcycle and forgot to brake, continued to drive the vehicle. After about 300 meters, it crashed into the bridge that came across it and fell into the water channel.
The police, who started an investigation about the driver after the accident, said in a statement that the driver was not drunk at the time of the incident and that there was no malfunction in the vehicle. The driver, whose statement was taken, was released pending trial. The motorcycle driver survived the accident with minor injuries and was treated at the hospital.
