Multiple explosions rocked Port Sudan after the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) reportedly targeted a fuel depot with a drone, igniting a massive fire. Thick smoke was seen rising from the port area as local media reported RSF drone strikes on key sites including the fuel depot, Port Sudan International Airport, and a hotel near government buildings.
The RSF, a paramilitary group at war with the Sudanese army since April 2023, continues its drone assaults amid a civil conflict that has displaced over 12 million people. The army controls most of central Sudan, while RSF increasingly targets infrastructure in army-held areas.
