earthquake hits indonesian island of java

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7 struck the southwest of the Indonesian island of Java, officials reported. The earthquake was felt strongly in the capital Jakarta and Lampung, Jabodetabek, Tasikmalaya and Bandung, causing mass panic among residents. The earthquake did not pose a tsunami risk, officials added.
