Eastern Türkiye is experiencing severe cold, with temperatures dropping to -22°C overnight. In Erzincan, boiling water froze mid-air when sprinkled, and vehicle windows and doors were covered in ice. Citizens resorted to scraping frozen car windows and using blankets or tarps to shield vehicles from the cold.
In Erzurum’s Aşkale district, actor Arif Arifoğulları found his clothes frozen after leaving them outside, humorously capturing the moment on video. Residents donned masks to shield their faces from the freezing temperatures, reminiscent of pandemic precautions. Many noted this was the coldest November and December in 15 years.
