The Ugandan Ministry of Health announced that the Ebola outbreak, which was declared to have ended in 2023, was seen again in Uganda, killing a hospital worker in the capital, Kampala.

The Ugandan Ministry of Health Spokesperson said that the deceased was a 32-year-old nurse at Mulago Hospital, who died as a result of multiple organ failure.

The Ugandan spokesperson also reported that the nurse had contact with 45 people, 11 of whom were family members and 30 were health workers, and that work will be initiated to vaccinate all contacted people and citizens of the country.
