The forest fire that started on Tuesday in the Guapulo region of Quito, the capital of the South American country of Ecuador, has been continuing for 3 days. The fire, described as one of the most devastating fires in recent years, has injured 2 firefighters and 2 children and rendered 6 houses unusable so far. Authorities evacuated over 100 houses in the area and a state of emergency has been declared in the city.
Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa stated that if the fire is determined to have been caused by arson, the attackers will be tried for terrorism.
