During the first three days of the Eid al-Fitr holiday, Türkiye witnessed a total of 1,838 traffic accidents, resulting in 19 fatalities and 2,912 injuries. Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya highlighted ongoing speed checks and radar operations throughout the holiday period, including night inspections. A significant number of vehicles, totaling 360,495, underwent inspections on the third day alone, with specific radar checks conducted on 20,142 vehicles. Unfortunately, these measures couldn’t prevent the tragic loss of lives and injuries, prompting condolences and wishes for swift recoveries from Minister Yerlikaya.
