Chilean Alan Wurman and Norwegian Eivind Gronning, traveling the world in a Tesla Cybertruck, arrived in Türkiye as part of their attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the most countries visited by electric vehicle. Arnavutköy near Istanbul Airport was their first stop.
The duo has already visited 43 countries, surpassing the existing record, and aims to reach 80 before finishing next year. Their Türkiye route includes Ankara, Nevşehir, Gaziantep, Adıyaman, Mardin, Diyarbakır, and Erzurum before crossing into Iran via Doğubeyazıt.
They said the Cybertruck draws huge interest everywhere, helping them connect with different cultures. In Istanbul, locals welcomed them with Turkish food and a Beşiktaş football scarf.
