An elephant decorated for the Puthiyangadi Festival in Malappuram, Kerala, attacked attendees, leaving 17 injured, including one in critical condition. The elephant, named Pakkathu Sreekuttan, was brought under control after a chaotic scene.
Video footage captured by bystanders showed the elephant lifting a person and throwing them to the ground. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals.
