A massive fire broke out in the Martyr Selimi industrial site in the city of Azershahr in Iran’s East Azerbaijan province at around 21:00 local time yesterday. A firefighter was injured by the smoke, and explosions occurred in some fuel tanks.
East Azerbaijan Province Crisis Management stated that a total of 25 fire trucks were sent to the fire, and the fire was extinguished in the morning.
Damage assessment works and an investigation into the cause of the fire are underway.
