People flocked to Lake District in England’s largest national park to cool off, while officials issued red alert for most of the country due to the high temperatures, prompted by scorching heatwave. The Lake District, located in the northwest of England, north of Liverpool and Manchester, is a popular destination for nature lovers throughout the year. The Lake District, which is located in Cumbria and covers an area of 2,362 square kilometers, also includes England’s highest peak at 978 meters.
