In Antalya’s Manavgat district, a male lion named Zeus escaped from an animal park and seriously injured a 53-year-old farmer sleeping in a pistachio field. The incident occurred around 03:30 near the D-400 Highway in Ilıca. Police and gendarmerie teams intervened by firing into the air to rescue the victim, Süleyman Kır, who was later hospitalized in serious condition.
Authorities launched a search for the lion, which was located and neutralized in a nearby forest around 11:30. An investigation into the escape and attack is ongoing.
