EU defense and foreign ministers gathered in Copenhagen for two days of Gymnich-style talks hosted by Denmark and chaired by EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas. The agenda includes boosting military support for Ukraine, EU-Ukraine defense cooperation, and possible sanctions on Iran.
Kallas said Russia’s latest strikes on Kyiv show Moscow “mocks peace initiatives,” stressing that more pressure is needed. She also noted a 30-day window to pursue a diplomatic solution with Iran as sanctions talks advance.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakçi responded in a letter, saying Tehran is ready to return to “fair” nuclear negotiations if the West shows seriousness and goodwill.
