In an international operation named “SIMCARTEL,” Latvian police and EUROPOL dismantled a major cybercrime network that defrauded thousands across Europe. Authorities seized 1,200 SIM devices, 40,000 active SIM cards, and five servers, detaining seven suspects.
The network was linked to at least 3,200 fraud cases in Austria and Latvia, generating millions of euros in illegal profits, including 4.5 million in Austria alone.
