EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that in addition to the aid from the EU Solidarity Fund, €10 billion in aid will be provided to countries affected by Storm Boris from the EU Cohesion Fund following a meeting in Wroclaw, Poland, with leaders of affected European countries yesterday.
The floods and inundations caused by storm Boris, which has been affecting central and eastern Europe since last weekend, have claimed the lives of 24 people in Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria and Romania.
