European Council President Charles Michel talked about relations with Türkiye in his statement to journalists at the end of the first day sessions of the extraordinary EU leaders’ summit in Brussels. Stating that EU leaders had a strategic meeting on Türkiye and that all leaders agreed on bettering the relations with the country, Michel emphasized that the situation in Cyprus, especially the UN’s solution process, was extremely important.
Michel also stated that EU leaders agreed to impose new sanctions on Iran’s unmanned aerial vehicle and missile manufacturers in response to Iran’s attacks on Israel, and that member countries discussed increasing military aid upon Ukraine’s request.
