Archaeological excavations have started in Şuayb, an ancient city in Şanlıurfa’s Harran district, under Türkiye’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The project seeks to uncover the city’s Roman and Byzantine-era history, known for its rock formations, carved caves, and unique architecture.
Experts from Harran University, led by archaeologist Dr. Burak Kuru, are conducting detailed studies to analyze historical findings and open the site to tourism. The project also offers significant academic opportunities for students and researchers.
