A combi boiler exploded in a 5-story residential building, causing a major apartment fire in Kocaeli, Turkey. The building was evacuated following the fire. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene shortly after the incident. The fire was brought under control after extinguishing efforts.
An investigation into the fire has been initiated.
The ancient city of Kibyra in Burdur’s Gölhisar district, historically known as the “city of gladiators,” offered a stunning backdrop during the Perseid meteor shower on August 12-13. Renowned for its Roman-era structures and multi-layered history, Kibyra is on UNESCO’s World Heritage Tentative List since 2016. Visitors were treated to views of the Odeon, Medusa mosaic, and monumental fountain, all set against the illuminated night sky over the Gölhisar Plain.
