An explosion occurred at an avenue in the southern Iraqi city of Najaf. A building sustained material damage as a result of the morning explosion. No casualties have been reported regarding the incident.
An eyewitness at the scene claimed that the explosion was caused by a rocket attack. The investigation into the explosion is ongoing, Najaf Police Department stated.
Andriy Portnov, former aide to ex-Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, was shot dead in Madrid’s upscale Pozuelo de Alarcon district. Spanish authorities say unidentified gunmen opened fire as the 52-year-old was dropping off his children at school, striking him in the back and head before fleeing.
Portnov, a former MP and lawyer, fled Ukraine with Yanukovych in 2014, briefly returned in 2019, and was later sanctioned by the U.S. for alleged judicial corruption.
