An explosion occurred in the chemistry department of the state university in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, leading to a fire. Following the incident, one person was found dead in the building, and three others had burns on their bodies. One of the three injured, who were hospitalized afterwards, is in serious condition, said the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The city has been decorated with TDT flags ahead of the summit, which will take place at the historic Varkert Bazar near the Danube.
Leaders from Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Hungary are expected to attend. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will also hold bilateral talks during his visit.
The summit will focus on deepening strategic cooperation among Turkic states, with discussions on economic ties, security, and cultural heritage. The event will conclude with the adoption of the Budapest Declaration.
