According to local officials, one PEMEX employee died in an explosion in the oil pipeline of the Mexican state oil company Mexican Petroleum (PEMEX) in the city of Epazoyucan in the Mexican state of Hidalgo.

Following the explosion, security forces cordoned off the area, and a nearby highway was closed to traffic. Fifty people were evacuated from their homes to safety.
