A powerful explosion at a gas station in eastern Rome injured more than 20 people, including eight police officers and a firefighter. The blast, which occurred after a truck reportedly damaged a pipeline, triggered a fire that spread to a nearby warehouse and caused damage to surrounding buildings.
Rome Mayor Roberto Gualtieri stated that all injuries were minor. Footage on social media showed a massive fireball and heavy smoke rising from the scene. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is reportedly following the incident closely.
