An explosion at an ammunition depot belonging to border troops in Surin province, northeastern Thailand, triggered a large fire and repeated blasts, authorities said. The depot is located about 50 kilometers from the Cambodian border.
The area was closed to civilians as bomb disposal teams searched for unexploded ordnance. The Royal Thai Army said the fire was not linked to any military operation, adding that the exact cause remains under investigation.
