An explosion in the parking garage of a multi-story building in Nussbaumen, Aargau canton, Switzerland, resulted in two deaths and 11 injuries. The blast, which occurred in the evening, caused a fire that quickly spread to other floors, prompting the evacuation of residents and widespread panic. Significant damage was reported to the building and parked vehicles. Emergency services, including three helicopters, managed to extinguish the fire overnight. The cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said peace talks between Russia and Ukraine have been suspended, noting that while communication channels remain open, “it would be more accurate to say there has been a pause.”
Peskov accused European countries of obstructing dialogue but insisted Moscow remains ready for negotiations.
Russia and Ukraine held three rounds of direct talks this year in Istanbul, leading to prisoner exchanges but little progress toward ending the war.
