The final day of the Off-Road Festival, organized for the first time in the Denizli Village of Gebze, Türkiye, was breathtaking. A hundred athletes, of whom twenty are women, raced in the festival that took place on a special track. The race between women and men on the track, which became more challenging due to the rain, was incredibly competitive.
“I hated mud when my husband started racing. But thanks to my husband, I liked this sport over time. I even want to go to more competitions now. I will attend all the events from now on. We thank the Mayor Zinnur Büyükgöz. He encouraged me to race as a woman. I recommend it to everyone; it is a beautiful thing. There is nothing that a woman cannot achieve,” said contestant Hatice Yıldız.
“We attend every off-road festival with my husband. I became champion before, and I hope I will win this time. I encourage women to compete a lot, but they are nervous. I think there is nothing to be nervous about or afraid of. Every woman can participate in the off-road race. I would love to compete with women as well,” Ayşegül Yıldız, another competitor, says.
