Fethullah Gülen, the leader of the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ), has died in Pennsylvania. His death was confirmed on the organization’s website and by his niece, Ebuseleme Gülen, via social media. Gülen had been suffering from kidney failure, diabetes, and dementia. He was widely known for his involvement in the failed 2016 coup attempt in Türkiye.
An 8.8 magnitude earthquake struck Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula, triggering a tsunami warning across the Pacific coast. Officials reported over 50 aftershocks and minor building damage. No casualties were recorded. Tsunami waves reached up to 4 meters, flooding parts of Severo-Kurilsk port. Authorities evacuated 2,700 residents, and emergency measures remain in place.
